randy and susan carpenter

Randy and Susan Carpenter live in Kuito, Angola, the provincial capital of central Bié Province. Their 30+ years of mission work in Kenya and Mozambique have uniquely prepared them for the new challenges they are undertaking in Angola. The needs of youth and children (over 50% of the population) bring opportunities to teach using Source of Light Bible studies. Using theological education by extension (TEE) materials helps them prepare leaders for local churches.  Teaching English as a foreign language provides unique ways to share Jesus. The AIDS pandemic in Mozambique has fueled their resolve to teach and prepare believers in Angola before the disease can have such a devastating effect there. Add administrative duties, hospitality and various building projects and you can imagine they have very busy lives.

Dave and sue clark

After Pastoring the Outreach and Missions ministries here at Faith Church from 2002 – 2008, David has answered the call to become a Continental Director with EE Int’l responsible for the 13 western United States.

This ministry assists Pastors in equipping their people to share their faith and train others to do the same, locally and globally. They desire to come along side Pastors helping them be very effective in their Ephesians 4:12 role of equipping the saints. EE training enables all Christians to engage in personal relationships with the people God puts in their everyday lives, encourage those people towards Christ with God’s truths, and equip others to do the same, thereby multiplying their impact as ambassadors for Christ.

In this role and based out of Fort Collins, Colorado they will do this personally for churches locally, coach a growing EE Field Staff assisting Pastors in their areas all across the Western United States, and help develop training materials and methods to be used by EE Int’l. worldwide. If you want find out more about training opportunities for you or your church, to receive our monthly newsletter or join our ministry partnership team please contact David by calling (970) 690–3147 or email dclark@eeinternational.org.

BRUCE AND KAREN DUELL

Bruce and Karen Duell have been serving in Denver as urban/intercultural missionaries under the Evangelical Free Church of America for almost 20 years. They have been involved in church planting and neighborhood ministries. Presently, Bruce and Karen are excited to be involved with the development of starting house churches under the EFCA Rocky Mountain District. They have a vibrant house church in their home (called Ancient Paths Church) and are in the process of starting other house churches. Their goal is to have many house churches which will be a part of Ancient Paths Church Network. They also have numerous ministries to reach out to the neighborhood. Some of these are: youth groups, tutoring and mentoring programs, young adults ministry, involvement with neighborhood schools and youth summer camps. Ancient Paths Church Network’s desire is to establish many faithful, accountable Churches that will accomplish the mission of connecting individuals and families with God and helping them to become committed disciples of Jesus.

MIKE AND MELISSA

Mike and Melissa have a close connection to Faith, as Mike grew up in the church and his calling to missions was confirmed during his adolescent years in the church. After having spent a year in French study (the official language of the country in which they are serving), they moved to West Africa where they plan on serving long term. They are currently immersing themselves in learning the local culture and customs, as well as in acquiring a second language in order to more effectively reach out to the people group they are serving. The people they are working amongst are an unreached group, with over 99% of the people placing their faith in Islam.

Mike and Melissa are part of a church planting team that desires to see God’s Kingdom and Church established amongst those with whom they are working. As a medical social worker and physician assistant, their ministry will be focused on church planting and community health work amongst the rural poor in their area. The area in which they are serving is literally a spiritual and physical desert. Presently there is virtually no Christian witness in the area in which they are serving. Furthermore, the people they are serving often face significant challenges on daily basis, such as poverty, drought, unemployment, illiteracy, lack of access to clean drinking water, and disease.

Their desire is to see people’s lives transformed through the healing of their bodies and the renewing of their souls that comes through Christ alone. They will be engaged in a holistic ministry that brings about physical restoration as well as spiritual transformation through establishing a community health project incorporating evangelism and discipleship with health education and training. Their goal is to work towards establishing a church planting movement, and to see a transformed community in which people are living healthier lives, spiritually and physically.

To find out more about their ministry, or to receive their regular updates, please contact Jon Rentfrow at jon@rentfrowdesign.com for further instruction.

Mike and rosemary

Mike and Rosemary are long-time members of Faith.  Rosemary’s call to missions occurred when she was a teenager, during a mission conference at Faith.  Mike grew up on the mission field (Ecuador), and was called to full time missions in 2004 during a short-term mission trip to the Czech Republic that he took with a group from Faith.

They moved to West Africa in February 2011 where they plan on serving long term.  They are currently immersed in language and culture study until February of 2012, at which time they will move to a town in the north to join the rest of their team (which includes their son, daughter-in-law and family).  Their prayer is that God will use their 3-generation family unit to open doors in the community.  Presently there is virtually no Christian witness in the area in which they are serving.  Furthermore, the people they are serving often face significant challenges on daily basis, such as poverty, drought, unemployment, illiteracy, lack of access to clean drinking water, and disease.  The team’s focus is seeing a church planting movement begin in the area where they serve, which is 99% Muslim.

RON AND JUDY SPAULDING

Ron and Judy Spaulding are missionaries with International Students, Inc. (ISI) at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. There are approximately

2,500 international students and scholars on campus, and the number is growing each year. The "Airport Pick-up Team" meets new arrivals in

August and January. Being the first to meet the students opens doors to begin relationships that last. This ministry engages in helping students

get adjusted to their new environment at UNL. There are fourteen (14) small groups now meeting to introduce students to the Bible, discipleship,

and church. The American volunteers contribute to the overall effort to help students know who Jesus is, and what the Bible says. The Spauldings help Americans use their gifts to serve others. They do many "humanitarian" deeds, but the focus is on sharing the Gospel of Christ, and discipling students, so they can go home to be missionaries to their own people.

Ron and Judy can be reached at 402-327-0341 or Ron's cell phone at 402-419-1111. Their e-mail address is: rosaul@frii.com. For further information about ISI you can go to the website: www.isiwebnet.net
