For the Christian, we have a clear teaching from The Bible to offer all our lives as an act of worship to God the Father, in the light of what Jesus Christ has done, through the power of the Holy Spirit. We affirm this! The life of the believer should point to a generous and loving God who has revealed himself through his Word.
Sunday mornings are the primary time for the body of believers to assemble together to worship God together, celebrate his goodness and to receive instruction from his Word, The Bible. It is also the primary place for seekers and newcomers to interact with Faith.
Because of this, our worship services at Faith center around these core values:
Value: Response Producing
Worship is a response by the believer to who God is and what he has done. We plan our services with the objective of creating a meaningful response by individuals, both during the service itself and also in their lives as they leave.
What this means at Faith:
- There are not "performers" and "audience" in our services, our desire is for all to be "participants", where participation can take many forms, including active listening and meditation.
- Response during the service can take many forms such as singing, personal prayer, commitment to action, writing, physical response, and participatory moments.
Value: Seeker Accessible
Sunday worship services are the primary entry point for most first time church attendees. Sunday worship services at Faith should be a safe place for people to experience God and the body of Christ regardless of where they are in their personal spiritual journey.
Value: Believer Edifying
Sunday worship services are the primary assembling together time for the body of believers. Sunday worship services at Faith should be a meaningful time of encouragement, exhortation, and instruction to the believer.
Value: Artistically Engaging
We carry out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission in the cultural context in which our local church exists. Just as Christ was, we seek to be thoroughly in the world, but not of it. This means that we will seek to use a variety of artistic expressions using the gifts that God has given us with excellence.
Value: Intentionally Diverse
One of the fundamental and radical elements of the universal Church is that it extends an invitation, a call, to all people regardless of race, age, gender, social status, power, or any other distinction that can be thought of. In that, we affirm the differences in values and spiritual needs among the believers, while simultaneously striving to mature all believers to greater love for their brothers and sisters in Christ, greater grace for each other, and greater understanding of each other as unique creations.
