ESL (English as a Second Language) is an important program of ISI––International Students Inc.––a Christian organization that exists to “share Christ’s love with International Students”. ISI helps international students, scholars and their families have a positive experience while in the U.S.A. All internationals students and scholars, regardless of race, religion or beliefs, are welcome to our events. ISI can be found on over 500 campuses throughout the U.S.A.

We offer Conversational English Language tutoring on Monday nights during the school year. Students, spouses of students, and other community members are welcome. Please contact us by clicking on the email address below if you’re interested in studying English or volunteering as a tutor.

Other ways you can help:

• Cooking classes – build a relationship with one to three students by leading a cooking class. This class will help them practice their English and adapt to American weights, measures and ingredients.
• First Friday International Dinner (monthly dinner)
• host a table
• provide food
• serve in the kitchen
• provide technical support
• Other Events – (like picnics, holiday parties, hikes or trips)
• Organize and lead an event
• Help with setup and cleanup
• provide transportation
• Help provide food for the weekly Bible study fellowship meeting
• Provide temporary lodging for a student before student housing opens
• Be a friend to an international student by including them in a couple of family activities in your home each month
• Invite a student to join you for different holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas
• Donate household items in good condition
• Sponsor students to attend an outreach event (such as the ISI Memorial weekend Chinese retreat)
