Steve baumgaertner
pastor of student ministries

My name is Steve Baumgaertner and I’m the Student Ministries Pastor here at Faith. I give directional leadership and speak regularly at both our Middle and High School gatherings. I have a passion for seeing young people impacted by God’s Word, which is at the center of our ministry.
My life has taken some interesting twists. Two weeks out of High School I joined the Army where I became an Airborne Ranger serving at 2nd Ranger Battalion from 94-97. After the Army I went to college where I studied Economics and Philosophy. I became a Christian my junior year through a ministry called Campus Crusade for Christ. After graduation I interned with this ministry before going to Dallas Theological Seminary to receive a Masters of Theology.
For the last five years I served as an Associate Pastor in Ellensburg Washington, before accepting the call to take this position at Faith. So far at Faith God has really blessed our ministry with exceptional leadership and amazing students—the last few months have truly been a blessing!
Outside of the office my wife and I both enjoy distance running and even cycling. But we delight even more in spending time with each other and our three children, ages 7, 5, and 2. We hang out and play lots; family life is good!

brandon mathis
Encounter program director
My name is Brandon Mathis, and I am a senior at Colorado State University. I’m majoring in Communication Studies with the intention of going on to seminary to follow God’s calling on my life. For the past 2 years I have been serving faithfully as a part of the college group Real Faith, taking on increasing amounts of responsibility. This last summer I was directing the summer gatherings in the park and speaking regularly. Also, I lead a college bible study and have been for a while. My heart to serve arose when I was young. I grew up in Golden, Colorado in a Christian home, went to church every week, and even went to a Christian school. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until high school that I started taking Christianity seriously. It was my junior year that I truly started to understand the implications of Jesus’ saving death and resurrection in my life. And it is for this reason that I think God has placed this opportunity in my life. I have a heart for high school students. I have a heart for leading and teaching the gospel. And I intend to utilize those passions for His kingdom.
susan Notess
High School Small Group Director

My name is Susan Notess, I'm from Fort Collins and grew up attending Faith with my family. After traveling for college, an overseas internship, and then seminary, I'm happy to be back in Fort Collins for a year and to have the opportunity to serve the youth at Faith. My passion for students is to see them move from a childhood knowledge of God to a realization of a personal relationship with God, and to help students develop a passion for Gods Word. I am a member of Wycliffe Bible Translators and will begin working with them next year as a linguist and translator in Asia.

CALEB CHESHIER
WEDNESDAY FRENZY DIRECTOR
My name is Caleb Cheshier and I am very excited to be the director of Wed. Fren-Z! I grew up in a Christian home and I accepted Christ at the age of seven. While growing up, the Lord blessed me with several great youth groups that really facilitated my growth with Christ. I graduated high school in a small Wyoming town and then went to the University of Wyoming where I studied history. It is there that I met my wife, Miranda, and we have now been married two years. We live in Fort Collins and I work as a salesman for a company in Windsor. Knowing that Middle School is such a crucial time in a student's life, I am looking forward to serving the students, and helping to provide a fun, safe environment where they have the opportunity to develop Christ centered friendships and grow in their personal walks with the Lord.
Carol seest
Middle School Small Group Director
Hi my name is Carol Seest. I have been married to Chuck for 21 years and we have 4 children; Nicole is 15, Ben is 13, Will is 11 and Andrew is 7. We have lived in Fort Collins for a little over 12 years and have been members at Faith for 12 years. The Lord led us to Faith soon after moving here. I grew up in Southern California and I came to know the Lord when I was 11 years old. When I entered high school the Lord blessed me with a wonderful high school ministry at my church as well as a great small group Bible study leader. Having amazing Christian’s as role models made a huge impact on my life spiritually. By the time I entered college, I was ready to give back to other teenagers and became a Jr. High girls small group Bible study leader at my church so I could encourage teens in their walk with the Lord. I have always enjoyed teenagers and feel that being a teenager is really tough without the Lord in your life. Chuck and I were both youth leaders at church in college until we started having children of our own and decided to take a little break. This year I have felt the Lord leading me back to getting involved with Student Ministries.
olivia folkesson
event director
Hello! I’m Olivia Folkesson and I am currently a Senior at Colorado State University pursuing a double major in Early Childhood Education and Human Development and Family Studies. I begin Student Teaching in January of 2012 and will graduate in May, hopefully with a job teaching early Elementary schoolers! I have always had a passion for working with youth and “excited” doesn’t even begin to cover how thrilled I am for this opportunity to lead and direct this spectacular group! I love any type of dancing you throw at me and I am a dual citizen of the United States and Sweden. My family is originally from Orlando, Florida and moved around a lot before landing in (and falling in love with) Evergreen, CO, where they still reside. I am fully aware of how essential strong spiritual leaders and role models are during the Jr. High and High School years and feel very blessed to get to be a part of this important stage in these students’ lives. I LOVE meeting new people and hearing what makes them tick, so please don’t hesitate to let me get to know you better!
