frequently asked questions

How do I get my son/daughter involved in the Student Ministry?

Answer:

This is probably the most frequently asked question of Student Ministry. The tough part is, there is no one right answer for every student. We do want to mention a few different ideas of getting your son/daughter involved in FX Student Ministries. One of the easiest ways to get your student involved is to introduce them to one of the Student Ministry Leaders. We invite you to come with your student and make sure that they are introduced to a student ministry staff member. Once a staff member meets them, the staff member will find a student who can show your son/daughter around during the services. Another way to get your student connected is to get them involved in a Community Group. These groups are age and gender divided and meet in a church member’s home near you during the school year. These groups are Bible study groups will the goal of specific application of Biblical truths to the students’ lives. Most groups average between 5-15 people. You can go to the Community Group page on this website or call church office to find out more details about Community Groups and where your son’s/daughter’s group meets. Another way to get your son/daughter involved in the ministry is to come to a major event. Because of all the events we have, it may be a lot less threatening to come to an event rather than a church service or Bible study. The student ministry staff wants to do whatever is possible in order for your student to get involved in the ministry. There is no greater thing than getting your son/daughter involved in FX Student Ministry at Faith Church to connect them to others and to Christ.

What are all the events available to the students in FX Student Ministry at Faith Evangelical Free Church?

Answer:

There are way too many events to list for each individual ministry within FX. The best way to find out about all of the events is to check out the calendar sections of the website. On this site, you can find all the upcoming events within FX. You can also call the office for any event questions or information.

How do I, as a parent, get involved in FX Student Ministries?

Answer:

There are numerous ways for you, as a parent or guardian, to get involved in FX Student Ministries. The easiest way to be involved is to pray for the Student Ministry on a regular basis. Although there are a lot of things going on in the ministry, none of those things make any kind of significant difference without God’s power. As far as physically getting involved in the ministry, there are tons of ways to get plugged in. You can be a Community Group leader/co-leader or a host home. Just within The Avenue building (the place where FX meets), you can be a greeter, help at the information counter, help serve in the café, help in the student services themselves, become a mentor in a students’ life, volunteer to make a meal once a month for our team of volunteers that spend their Wednesday nights serving the youth, etc. You can contact any of the Student Ministry Leaders for more details on how to get involved. Every adult volunteer will fill out an Adult Volunteer Application that involves a background check. Once that is cleared, one of the pastors will get in contact and find out where you could get plugged in. There is no greater place where you can serve that will make any greater impact than in FX Student Ministries. The student ministry staff would love to have you be a part of the team!

If my son/daughter needs professional counseling, where should I go?

Answer:

Anyone on the Student Ministry staff would love to talk with your son/daughter. We are not trained, licensed counselors, but we can speak with students about the spiritual nature of any issues. For any major psychological issues, we highly recommend a licensed, professional counselor. We might be able to refer you to a professional in the area, just let us know by calling the office at (970) 226-2095.
